1972 Jeep J2000 Pickup Yellow 4WD Automatic custom
1972 Jeep J2000360, 4 barrel, TH400, PS, PB , 4:09 diff ratio, 7’ bedWhat I did to it to make it a driver:New windshieldNew tiresNew starterChanged oil and filterWheels sand blasted and powder coated whiteRebuilt carburetorMoved the archaic brake light switch from the master cylinder to a GM switch on the pedal inside the cab.brake booster rebuilt (try and buy one…)Flushed coolant and replaced with newReplaced the carpet, and it sucks. The “fitted” carpet doesn’t fit, but it’s thereRemoved flooring and door panels. Cleaned out and sprayed with rust conversion (for the surface) and clear coat for protectant. Added sound deadner under the carpet and behind the seat. Sprayed the inside of the doors and added some sound deadner, lubed all the window partsNew air filterRemoved tank and flushedReplaced all fuel line from tank to carburetor.Rebuild carburetorReplaced fuel filter and fuel pumpNew spark plugsNew batteryRefaced speedo, got all lights and gauges working (has aftermarket mechanical oil pressure and amp meter)Made all lights work (except backup lights so far)Replace fluid and gaskets in the front and rear differentials (valvoline synthetic with limited slip additive as they are limited slip (per the tag) differentials) Dana 44 front and rear.Replaced turn signal switch (never again)Nothing leaks?? Weird, I know….93,000 miles on odometer, and it works, but who really knows…It runs excellent and sounds better (mild muffler, single exhaust). Great oil pressure. Cools well (well, its still winter)ALL these Jeeps were rust buckets, and this one is not. No rust in the bed. There is a small rust through (see pics) next to the gas pedal and on the very left of the floor pan near the door. I used seam sealer and a small aluminum plate to cover. If I keep it I would just weld in a small patch but it is fine like this. The body is not beat up; but its 48 years old and has some scratches and scapes, see photos. If I keep it I will rough them out a bit more then clear the whole thing. I love that look!It had large mirrors on it screwed in Rancher style and they were falling apart so I threw them away and put on elcheapo eBay mirrors. I seam sealed the holes shut. (See pics)It is very solid and actually drives nice. (Relative to a 1972 Jeep)By a previous owner is has an Edelbrock carburetor and intake on it.Clear Montana title in my nameNeeds:back up lights fixedHorn fixedSide window rubbersBrakes should be looked at (they work but I haven’t had time to open them up and inspect)Fix the floppy transfer case lever. The transfer case works but the lever is so floppy I didn’t even screw down the new boot I bought.$7900 firmFirst come first served, PayPal, cash or cashiers check, located in Kalispell MT
